From years of experience using film and early digital fundus cameras, Peter Van Houten, M.D. designed advanced software and hardware systems that would meet his needs for superior image quality and system capabilities. He uses these systems in his own retina practice in Greenville, North Carolina today, and continually works on each aspect of them to produce future improvements. His philosophy is "if you can't see it, you can't treat it," so image quality is paramount in his design and choice of components. In addition to being a board certified ophthalmologist, a retina specialist, and the President of eyeExpert, LLC, Dr. Van Houten is also a recognized expert in digital imaging technologies, and frequently gives presentations at professional meetings. eyeExpert, LLC is located in Greenville, NC (85 miles east of Raleigh) and is staffed by a number of professionals in sales and marketing, technical support and administrative roles. The systems are assembled and tested there before shipment to each customer. eyeExpert, LLC is investing in the future of digital imaging in many ways, and has as its mission to advance retinal imaging science by achieving the highest quality images and analysis possible. |
